Anatectic melt inclusions in ultra high temperature granulites

Omar Gianola et al.

Summary: Partial melting up to ultra-high temperature conditions is a major process for geochemical differentiation and reworking of the mid- to lower continental crust. UHT granulites from the Gruf Complex in the European Central Alps contain primary melt inclusions with a variety of compositions, indicating the importance of melting processes in metamorphic rocks.

Anatectic granites in their source region: A comparison between experiments, thermodynamic modelling and nanogranitoids

Omar Bartoli et al.

Summary: Anatectic granites are products of crustal maturation by partial melting, and understanding their origin is crucial for understanding continental crust formation and evolution. This study compares melt compositions obtained from different tools, models the effects of various factors on melt composition, and compares the results with previous studies to verify systematic compositional differences and similarities.
