Gastric submucosal alleviated pro-inflammation cytokines mediated initial dysfunction of islets allografts

Zhuzeng Yin et al.

Summary: The gastric submucosa may be an ideal site for islet transplantation in rats, as it can alleviate early islet dysfunction triggered by pro-inflammatory factors and lead to prolonged graft survival with good glycemic control.

Artificial Pancreas Technology Offers Hope for Childhood Diabetes

Melissa J. Schoelwer et al.

Summary: Recent studies have shown that hybrid closed-loop devices can improve glycemic control in children and adolescents with T1D by increasing the time spent in the target glucose range without increasing the risk of hypoglycemia. However, challenges remain in maintaining tight glycemic control during the day due to meals and exercise, highlighting the importance of precise carbohydrate counting and meal boluses. Achieving a fully automated AP system to reduce the burden of using diabetes technology remains an area for further research despite the improvements seen with current hybrid closed-loop systems.
