Mechanics of natural curaua textile-reinforced concrete

Leticia Oliveira de Souza et al.

Summary: This study produced textile-reinforced concrete (TRC) using high-performance natural curaua unidirectional fabrics as reinforcement. The mechanical behavior of composites was evaluated through tensile testing, and crack formation was investigated using digital image correlation (DIC). The curaua textile showed promising reinforcement properties, resulting in a composite with multiple cracking formation and strain-hardening behavior, making it a cost-effective and sustainable alternative to conventional construction materials.
