Applicability of TiO2(B) nanosheets@hydrochar composites for adsorption of tetracycline (TC) from contaminated water

Zhu Mengting et al.

Summary: The study shows that converting wheat straw into hydrochar and functionalizing its surface with TiO2(B) as a composite has added value as an adsorbent for wastewater treatment. Among the composites tested, Composite-4 showed the highest TC removal rate of 93% under conditions of pH 7, dosage of 1 g/L, reaction time of 4 hours, and TC concentration of 50 mg/L.

Thermodynamic study on solubility of brain tumor drug in supercritical solvent: Temozolomide case study

Samyar Zabihi et al.

Summary: The solubility of Temozolomide in supercritical carbon dioxide was analyzed under various pressure and temperature ranges, showing a strong dependency on both factors with a more profound effect of pressure at higher temperatures. The study also correlated the solubility data using different density-based models, with Kumar and Johnston model exhibiting the best correlative ability and Garlapati & Madras model showing the worst modeling results.

Molecular dynamics simulation of novel diamino-functionalized hollow mesosilica spheres for adsorption of dyes from synthetic wastewater

Rasool Pelalak et al.

Summary: This study focuses on the facile synthesis, design, simulation, and modeling of novel diamino functionalized hollow mesosilica spheres (DAF-HMSS) structures for the removal of hazardous dyes from aqueous media. The adsorption mechanism, equilibrium capacities, and reactivity assessment were studied using various characterization techniques and molecular dynamics simulation. Results showed that the reactivity and toxicity of Crystal Violet (CV) dye were higher than that of Neutral Red (NR) dye, with higher electrophilic index indicating higher toxicity.

Recovering heavy metals from electroplating wastewater and their conversion into Zn2Cr-layered double hydroxide (LDH) for pyrophosphate removal from industrial wastewater

Dun Fu et al.

Summary: This study successfully incorporated technological values into the Zn2Cr-layered double hydroxide, synthesized from unused resources, for the removal of pyrophosphate in electroplating wastewater. Through mechanisms such as ion exchange, the Zn2Cr-LDH showed almost complete removal of PP under optimized conditions, with efficient regeneration of the waste material, meeting environmental standards.
