Salt to Taste: The Critical Roles Played by Inorganic Salts in Organozinc Formation and in the Negishi Reaction

Philip Eckert et al.

Summary: Negishi first reported the cross-coupling of organozinc nucleophiles with aryl halides in 1977. The importance of salt additives in this process was overlooked for decades until 2006, leading to debate in the catalysis community.

Enfortumab vedotin - next game-changer in urothelial cancer

Moritz Maas et al.

Summary: Enfortumab vedotin has shown promising efficacy and good tolerability in phase I/II trials, particularly in heavily treated patients and those with liver metastases. It seems to be more effective than third-line chemotherapies, with ongoing studies to determine its potential in treatment sequences.

Effects of PI3K and FGFR inhibitors alone and in combination, and with/without cytostatics in childhood neuroblastoma cell lines

Stefan Holzhauser et al.

Summary: The study demonstrates that monotherapy with alpelisib or erdafitinib can inhibit cell viability and proliferation in a dose-dependent manner, with enhanced efficacy observed when combined. However, when combined with traditional cytotoxic agents such as cisplatin, vincristine, and doxorubicin, the effects showed variable synergistic, additive, and antagonistic outcomes. These results suggest that PI3K and FGFR inhibitors hold potential for anti-NB activity and may reduce the occurrence of refractory and relapsing disease when incorporated into treatment regimens.
