This study aims to evaluate the mechanical influence of motion on the aging behavior of automotive lithium-ion battery cells. The cells were aged by galvanostatic cycling at different temperatures and currents, while being shaken on a rocker to simulate vehicle movement. Changes were measured in capacity, temperature, and internal resistance over lifetime.
The aim of this study is to evaluate the mechanical influence of motion on the aging behavior of automotive lithium-ion battery cells. The battery cells were aged by galvanostatic cycling at different temperatures and currents. During the galvanostatic cycling, the cells were shaken on a rocker to simulate the movement of a vehicle. Over lifetime, changes were measured in capacity, temperature, and internal resistance.
