The impact of an oil droplet on an oil layer on water

Summary: The depth of the crater on the two-layer liquid is dependent on the thickness of the oil layer when it is less than 1.6 times the droplet diameter, otherwise the behavior is similar to a single layer. The deformation of the oil-water interface plays a significant role in understanding the behavior of the two-layer liquid.
