Phase-pure ditungsten carbide nanoparticles covered by carbon as efficient electrocatalysts for hydrogen evolution reaction

Xiaoyan Yuan et al.

Summary: This study demonstrated the fabrication of phase-pure ditungsten carbide nanocrystallines covered with a thin carbon layer, showing excellent hydrogen evolution reaction activity and stability. The amount of urea can modulate the phase composition of the samples, and urea can also act as a reducing agent to facilitate the formation of phase-pure W2C.
