Analysis of unsteady mixed convection of Cu-water nanofluid in an oscillatory, lid-driven enclosure using lattice Boltzmann method

Mostafa Valizadeh Ardalan et al.

Summary: The study investigates the unsteady physics of laminar mixed convection in a lid-driven enclosure filled with Cu-water nanofluid. It finds that implementing a temporally sinusoidal velocity on the top wall reduces the required power while decreasing wall oscillation frequency increases heat transfer rate. Additionally, lowering Richardson number and increasing volume fraction of nanoparticles enhance heat transfer rate.

A Machine Learning Approach to Predicting the Heat Convection and Thermodynamics of an External Flow of Hybrid Nanofluid

Rasool Alizadeh et al.

Summary: This study numerically analyzed the heat convection and entropy generation in a hybrid nanofluid flowing around a cylinder embedded in porous media. The research found that the heat transfer of the system increases with higher Reynolds number, permeability parameter, or volume fraction of nanoparticles, while increasing nanoparticle concentration has a nonmonotonic effect on entropy generation. The study demonstrates the capability of artificial intelligence algorithms in predicting the thermohydraulics and thermodynamics of thermal and solutal systems.

Ali Yarmohammadi et al.

Summary: The study shows that twisted porous ribs in microchannels can significantly reduce the expansion of the thermal boundary layer, while demonstrating good entropy generation performance. Through an investigation of different parameters, the results indicate that the microchannel with triple-layer porous ribs shows the most outstanding performance.

Analysis of entropy generation of ferrofluid flow in the microchannel with twisted porous ribs: The two-phase investigation with various porous layers

Amirhosein Mosavi et al.

Summary: The study focused on the thermal performance of microchannels with twisted porous ribs and investigated the impact of Reynolds number and nanoparticle volume fraction. Results showed that inserting porous ribs increased local Reynolds number and circulation of nanofluid flow, leading to higher heat transfer coefficient. Increasing the number of porous layers enhanced heat transfer coefficient but also increased friction factor. Triple layers of twisted porous ribs in microchannels showed better performance in total entropy generation.

Summary: The parameters of SCPP were investigated and modified using Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD). The study focused on investigating the hydrodynamic parameters of flow and heat transfer in SCPP, examining the effect of geometrical parameters and different thermal boundary conditions on its performance in a two-dimensional space. The research found that reducing the divergent angle can improve the power generation rate of the turbine, while the radius of SC and solar radiation have a direct relation with power generation.

A machine learning approach to the prediction of transport and thermodynamic processes in multiphysics systems-heat transfer in a hybrid nanofluid flow in porous media

Rasool Alizadeh et al.

Summary: This paper presents a novel approach based on machine learning techniques for predicting transport behaviors of complex multiphysics systems, resulting in significant reductions in computational time and cost. The study focuses on a hybrid nanofluid flow over a blunt object in porous media, including mixed convection, entropy generation, local thermal non-equilibrium, and nonlinear thermal radiation. The SVR model is used to approximate various functions, while the PSO meta-heuristic algorithm is applied for proposing correlations, allowing for quantitative evaluation of variables' contributions.
