Effects of Sm-doping on microstructure, magnetic and microwave absorption properties of BiFeO3

Chuang Tian et al.

Summary: In this study, polycrystalline samples of Bi1-xSmxFeO3 were synthesized successfully using the sol-gel method. The effects of Sm concentration on crystal structure, morphology, chemical states, magnetic properties, and microwave absorption performance were investigated. The results demonstrate that Sm doping can effectively improve magnetic properties and microwave absorption properties of the material.

Investigation on the effect of neodymium doping on the magnetic, dielectric and microwave absorption properties of strontium hexaferrite particles in X-band

Avesh Garg et al.

Summary: Neodymium-doped strontium hexaferrites were developed as microwave absorbing materials, resulting in the formation of pure ferrite phase with smaller particle size due to neodymium acting as a growth inhibitor. Saturation magnetization and coercivity decreased with increasing neodymium doping concentration, leading to improved impedance matching and reflection loss. An optimal attenuation constant and reflection loss were observed at a doping concentration of X = 0.3, with a maximum reflection loss value of -40.595 dB at 9.62 GHz.

Fabrication of nitrogen-doped reduced graphene oxide/cobalt ferrite hybrid nanocomposites as broadband electromagnetic wave absorbers in both X and Ku bands

Xiaohui Li et al.

Summary: In this study, nitrogen-doped reduced graphene oxide decorated by magnetic cobalt ferrite hybrid nanocomposites were successfully synthesized through solvothermal and hydrothermal two-step processes. The nanocomposites showed excellent electromagnetic absorption performance, with the optimal absorption capacity achieved at a NRGO content of 13.76 wt%. The potential electromagnetic absorption mechanisms were also uncovered, providing a novel idea for designing high-performance electromagnetic absorbers based on RGO.

Evolution of structure and improvement in dielectric properties of praseodymium substituted YFeO3 nanomaterials synthesized via a sol-gel auto-combustion method

Muhammad Asif et al.

Summary: In this study, Y1-xPrxFeO3(0 <= x <= 0.16) ceramics were synthesized using the auto-combustion sol-gel method, and structural and morphological analysis was conducted using XRD, SEM with EDS mapping, and FTIR. The substitution of Pr transformed the orthorhombic structure into a hexagonal one and significantly enhanced the dielectric constant, making it potentially suitable for high-frequency applications.

Influences of strontium on the phase composition and lattice structure of biphasic calcium phosphate

Mengjing Wang et al.

Summary: This study focused on the effects of Sr in BCP, with results showing that increasing Sr concentrations can affect HAp stability and phase transformation. Sr was successfully doped into the crystal lattices of B-TCP and HAp, with a larger ion radius than Ca2+, leading to lattice constant and volume increases. The intensities of Sr3d and Sr3p in XPS results indicated Sr presence in both B-TCP and HAp crystalline structures.

Subwavelength electromagnetic wave absorption with ferroelectric particles that enhance the magnetic permeability in magnetodielectric composites

Kyungnae Baek et al.

Summary: The study demonstrates a new method for preparing electromagnetic absorption films by mixing ferroelectric BaTiO3 particles into a soft magnetic FeSiAl flake composite. This method not only enhances the dielectric constant and increases the effective magnetic permeability, but also achieves perfect absorption of electromagnetic waves at a very thin thickness.
