A Review of Polysiloxanes in Terms of Their Application in Explosives

Karol Zalewski et al.

Summary: The properties of polysiloxanes vary based on the functionalization of a silicon-oxygen backbone chain, and how these properties meet the requirements of polymers used in plastic/polymer-bonded explosive (PBX) explosives are discussed. The current state and prospects of implementing polysiloxanes in PBX formulations are also presented.

Remarkable Thermal Conductivity of Epoxy Composites Filled with Boron Nitride and Cured under Pressure

Sasan Moradi et al.

Summary: Applying pressure during cure can enhance the thermal conductivity of epoxy-BN composites, with the mechanism depending on the composite system and type of BN fillers. This enhancement is achieved through reducing void content, improving matrix-particle interface, or increasing contact area, demonstrating a effective means for achieving high conductivity in epoxy-BN composites.

Combining Alumina Particles with Three-Dimensional Alumina Foam for High Thermally Conductive Epoxy Composites

Hao Wang et al.

Summary: The epoxy/AF/Al2O3 composite with a high thermal conductivity of 4.1 W/mK and a significant thermal conductivity enhancement of 2097% demonstrates a promising filler structure for thermal conductivity composites. The synergistic effect between the 3D interconnected AF and Al2O3 microparticles plays a critical role in promoting thermal percolation networks and lowering the coefficient of thermal expansion compared to most epoxy-based composites.
