Enhancing the catalytic performance of Co substituted NiAl2O4 spinel by ultrasonic spray pyrolysis method for steam and dry reforming of methane

Mohammad Hadi Aghaali et al.

Summary: (Ni,Co)Al2O4 mesoporous spinel particles with high specific surface area were synthesized in a single-step by ultrasonic spray pyrolysis at 1000 degrees C. Substituting Ni with Co increased catalyst stability, methane conversion values, and resistance against carbon deposition.

Sorption enhanced steam reforming of ethanol over Ni-based catalyst coupling with high-performance CaO pellets

Yongqing Xu et al.

Summary: The study successfully improved the quality of H-2 gas produced during the sorption enhanced steam reforming (SESRE) process of ethanol by coupling novel CaO-based porous spherical sorbents with conventional Ni/Al2O3 catalyst. The results showed that the sorption enhanced steam reforming process is an effective and flexible way to produce high-quality H-2 around 600 degrees C, and the simulated sorption enhanced process was experimentally validated.

NixAl1O2-δ mesoporous catalysts for dry reforming of methane: The special role of NiAl2O4 spinel phase and its reaction mechanism

Shuangshuang Zhang et al.

Summary: The evolution of the surface NiAl2O4 spinel phase in NixAl1O2-delta mesoporous catalysts synthesized by the citric acid sol-gel method was systematically studied. The constructed Ni-0-NiAl2O4 interfaces and active oxygen species generated by filling oxygen vacancies of NiAl2O4 spinel play important roles in enhancing the stability and resistance to coking and sintering in dry reforming of methane reaction.
