Summary: Carbon aerogels derived from deep eutectic solvents modified cellulose nanofiber exhibit high adsorption capacity and excellent thermal stability, allowing for repeated use. The successful oil/water separation is mainly attributed to the rough surface and reduced hydrophilic groups of the carbon aerogel.
