Prospective analyses of testosterone and sex hormone-binding globulin with the risk of 19 types of cancer in men and postmenopausal women in UK Biobank

Eleanor L. Watts et al.

Summary: The study found that higher levels of free testosterone in men were associated with increased risks of melanoma and prostate cancer, while higher levels of total testosterone and SHBG were linked to an elevated risk of liver cancer in men. In postmenopausal women, higher levels of free and total testosterone and SHBG were associated with risks of endometrial and breast cancer. The association with liver cancer in men may be due to reverse causation.
