Noise regularization removes correlation artifacts in single-cell RNA-seq data preprocessing

Ruoyu Zhang et al.

Summary: This study benchmarked five representative scRNA-seq normalization/imputation methods and found that oversmoothing of raw data may introduce spurious correlations. A noise-regularization method was proposed to eliminate correlation artifacts and successfully applied to reconstruct a gene coexpression network.
