The associations between late effects of cancer treatment, work ability and job resources: a systematic review

Ingrid G. Boelhouwer et al.

Summary: This review evaluated the associations between possible late effects of cancer treatment and work ability among workers beyond 2 years after diagnosis. It found that late physical complaints, fatigue, and cognitive complaints were negatively related to work ability, while social support and autonomy were associated with higher work ability. More longitudinal research is needed to understand the impact of late effects of cancer treatment on work ability, as well as the buffering effect of job resources.
