Investigating oxygen transport efficiencies in precision-cut liver slice-based organ-on-a-chip devices

Summary: This study evaluated the maintenance of oxygen mass transport in microfluidic 'organ-on-a-chip' devices and developed an optimized design to better simulate nutrient transport in vivo. Simulation results showed that the proposed device outperformed existing designs, providing more physiological oxygenation conditions in an organ-on-a-chip system.
