Solvent-Induced Assembly of Microbial Protein Nanowires into Superstructured Bundles

Yun-Lu Sun et al.

Summary: Protein-based electronic biomaterials offer environmentally friendly alternatives to traditional metallic and semiconductor materials, but face challenges in processing proteins in organic solvents and forming high-order structures. This study addresses these challenges by forming one-dimensional bundles of electrically conductive protein nanowires harvested from bacteria, enabling the production of multi-scale structures.
