The substructure of the Perseus star-forming region: a survey with Gaia DR2

Tatiana Pavlidou et al.

Summary: Using Gaia DR2 data, we identified five new young star clusters in the Perseus molecular cloud region, with ages between 1 and 5 million years and disk fractions ranging from 10% to 50%. The kinematic comparison showed two distinct sets of groups, with older groups at higher galactic latitude and younger groups sharing proper motion and age characteristics. Autochthe is closely linked to NGC1333, indicating a common origin in the star formation event.

On the Three-dimensional Structure of Local Molecular Clouds

Catherine Zucker et al.

Summary: This study utilizes the high spatial resolution dust map to characterize the three-dimensional structure of nearby molecular clouds, revealing that clouds have outer and inner layers, with the outer layer being wider and lower in density, while the inner layer is narrower and higher in density, with an approximate ratio of 3:1 in widths. The study also proposes two hypotheses on possible transitions in the cloud structure and finds that fitting the clouds with two-component Gaussian functions or Plummer functions is more appropriate.

Ultraluminous X-Ray Sources

Summary: ULXs are a class of unique objects with X-ray luminosities exceeding the Eddington limit, mostly believed to be supercritical accretion disks. The discovery of neutron stars in some systems further supports this conclusion.
