An X-ray burst from a magnetar enlightening the mechanism of fast radio bursts

M. Tavani et al.

Summary: In April 2020, an X-ray burst temporally coincident with a radio burst from the Galactic magnetar SGR 1935+2154 was detected by the AGILE satellite. The burst observed in hard X-rays was cut off above 80 keV and had an isotropically emitted energy of about 10(40) erg.

A High-resolution View of Fast Radio Burst Host Environments

Alexandra G. Mannings et al.

Summary: Observations of eight fast radio burst host galaxies with the Hubble Space Telescope show that they are typically located in fainter regions of their host galaxies but overall follow a certain pattern, distinct from other transient populations with known progenitors. Most of the FRBs are not in regions of elevated star formation rates or stellar mass surface densities. Additionally, five out of eight FRB hosts exhibit clear spiral arm features.

A Search for Hard X-Ray Bursts Occurring Simultaneously with Fast Radio Bursts in the Repeating FRB 121102

Shangyu Sun et al.

Summary: The nature of fast radio bursts (FRBs) remains unknown, and researchers have been exploring different models to understand their origins. This study aimed to investigate the simultaneous multiwavelength counterparts of repeating FRBs using hard X-ray burst data but did not find any significant correlations.

Deep Optical Observations Contemporaneous with Emission from the Periodic FRB 180916.J0158+65

Charles D. Kilpatrick et al.

Summary: The study presented deep optical observations of a periodic fast radio burst (FRB) 180916.J0158+65 within seconds of its radio emission, but did not detect any transient optical emission. This constrains scenarios related to the burst energy and the circumburst density.
