Synthesis of gallic acid functionalized magnetic hydrogel beads for enhanced synergistic reduction and adsorption of aqueous chromium

Ting Lu et al.

Summary: The magnetic hydrogel beads (MHB) exhibited excellent performance in synergistic reduction and adsorptive removal of Cr(VI), with high adsorption capacity and satisfactory reusability. The GA-functionalized MHB showed promising potential for chromium wastewater treatment due to its synergistic reduction and adsorption process, ultra-high Cr(VI) removal capacity, easy magnetic separation, and superior recycling performance.

Core/shell composite microparticles for catalytic reduction of p-nitrophenol: kinetic and thermodynamic study

K. Naseem et al.

Summary: A facile and single-step in situ chemical reduction method was utilized to effectively assemble silver nanoparticles in polystyrene-poly(N-isopropyl methacrylamide-acrylic acid) core/shell microgels, exhibiting high catalytic activity towards the reduction of p-nitrophenol with temperature-tunable catalytic activity. The composite microparticles were found to be promising and easily recoverable catalysts with maintained catalytic activity up to four cycles.
