Heart Transplantation After Acute Aortic Dissection in an Adolescent With Marfan Syndrome

This report presents the case of a 14-year-old patient with clinical features of Marfan syndrome who underwent an emergency Bentall procedure for acute type A aortic dissection. The patient required postoperative extracorporeal membrane oxygenation and was listed for heart transplantation because of persistent left ventricular failure caused by an intimal tear and thrombosis of the left main coronary artery.
