Aspiration of conjugated bile acids predicts adverse lung transplant outcomes and correlates with airway lipid and cytokine dysregulation

Andreacarola Urso et al.

Summary: The study found that high levels of bile acids and predominance of conjugated bile acids are independent predictors of chronic lung allograft dysfunction, mortality, and bacterial infections. Primary conjugated bile acids are associated with changes in airway lipidome and bacterial infections.
