Microsupercapacitor with a 500 nm gap between MXene/CNT electrodes

Eunji Kim et al.

Summary: This study presents a method for fabricating on-chip symmetric MSCs with coplanar interdigitated electrodes using focused-ion-beam process and carbon nanotube electrodes. The micro supercapacitors produced have high areal capacitance with narrow gaps between electrode fingers, while electron beam lithography and photolithography are utilized to create ultra-small footprint devices.

From wood to thin porous carbon membrane: Ancient materials for modern ultrafast electrochemical capacitors in alternating current line filtering

Miao Zhang et al.

Summary: Wood-derived carbon membrane electrodes exhibit excellent frequency response and competitive specific areal capacitance and low resistance-capacitance constant, making them promising for ultrafast electrochemical capacitors with AC line filtering function. The unique combination of high conductivity, porous structure, and thin thickness down to 20 μm sets these electrodes apart from conventional materials like carbon nanotubes and graphene. Their inexpensive and scalable fabrication strategy further adds to their appeal for practical applications.
