Unlocking thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) in the fight against Fake graphene materials

Farzaneh Farivar et al.

Summary: The lack of rapid, reliable, and cost-effective quality control for industrially manufactured graphene materials is a pressing issue for the emerging graphene industry. Thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) has been developed as a simple tool for characterizing and controlling the quality of manufactured few-layer graphene (FLG) and their impurities in powder form. This method is suitable for graphene manufacturers and end-users for simple, low-cost, and reliable quality control to detect fake graphene.

Thermogravimetric Analysis (TGA) of Graphene Materials: Effect of Particle Size of Graphene, Graphene Oxide and Graphite on Thermal Parameters

Farzaneh Farivar et al.

Summary: This study investigated the influence of different particle sizes on the thermal properties of graphene powders using thermogravimetric analysis. It found that the T-max values of graphene and graphene oxide increased with particle size, indicating a linear relationship between T-max values and particle size.
