Characterization of the blood pressure response during cycle ergometer cardiopulmonary exercise testing in black and white men Data from the Fitness Registry and Importance of Exercise: A National Database (FRIEND)

Summary: It has been found that black men have higher peak systolic blood pressure and systolic blood pressure response to exercise compared to white men, regardless of age group, suggesting an exaggerated blood pressure response to exercise among the former group. Further investigation is needed to understand the underlying mechanisms and clinical implications of this phenomenon.
