Parametric superlinear double phase problems with singular term and critical growth on the boundary

Angel Crespo-Blanco et al.

Summary: In this paper, we establish the existence of at least two weak solutions for quasilinear elliptic equations driven by the double phase operator with a reaction that includes a singular and a parametric superlinear term, and with a nonlinear Neumann boundary condition of critical growth, provided the parameter is sufficiently small.

A new class of double phase variable exponent problems: Existence and uniqueness

Angel Crespo-Blanco et al.

Summary: In this paper, a new class of quasilinear elliptic equations driven by the double phase operator with variable exponents is introduced. Certain properties of the corresponding Musielak-Orlicz Sobolev spaces and the new double phase operator are proved. Compared to the known constant exponent case, the assumptions on the data can be weakened, and the existence and uniqueness of corresponding elliptic equations with gradient dependence are shown under very general assumptions on the data. Furthermore, the density of smooth functions in the new Musielak-Orlicz Sobolev space is shown even when the domain is unbounded.

Existence results for double phase problems depending on Robin and Steklov eigenvalues for the p-Laplacian

Said El Manouni et al.

Summary: This paper studies double phase problems with nonlinear boundary condition and gradient dependence. Existence results for such problems are proved under general assumptions where the perturbations have suitable behavior near the origin and at infinity. The obtained solutions depend on the first eigenvalues of the Robin and Steklov eigenvalue problems for the p-Laplacian.

Constant sign and nodal solutions for superlinear double phase problems

Leszek Gasinski et al.

Summary: This double phase problem with unbalanced growth and a superlinear reaction does not need to satisfy the Ambrosetti-Rabinowitz condition. Through variational tools and the Nehari method, it is shown that the Dirichlet problem has at least three nontrivial solutions: a positive solution, a negative solution, and a nodal solution with exactly two nodal domains.

Existence of solutions for double phase obstacle problems with multivalued convection term

Shengda Zeng et al.

Summary: This paper studies an elliptic obstacle problem with a double phase phenomenon and a multivalued reaction term, which depends on the gradient of the solution. It proves that, under quite general assumptions, the set of weak solutions to the problem is nonempty, bounded, and closed. The proof is based on a surjectivity theorem for multivalued mappings generated by the sum of a maximal monotone multivalued operator and a bounded multivalued pseudomonotone mapping.

Convergence analysis for double phase obstacle problems with multivalued convection term

Shengda Zeng et al.

Summary: This paper introduces a family of approximating problems for solving an elliptic obstacle problem with double phase phenomena and a multivalued reaction convection term. We prove a convergence relation between the solution sets of the obstacle problem and the approximating problems, showing their weak and strong Kuratowski upper limits.

Sign changing solution for a double phase problem with nonlinear boundary condition via the Nehari manifold

Leszek Gasinski et al.

Summary: This paper investigates the existence of multiple solutions for quasilinear elliptic equations driven by the double phase operator and with a nonlinear boundary condition. The sign of the solutions (positive, negative, nodal) is determined, and the boundedness of weak solutions for a general class of such problems is also proven.

Elliptic problems with convection terms in Orlicz spaces

Giuseppina Barletta et al.

Summary: This paper establishes the existence of a solution to a Dirichlet problem for a class of nonlinear elliptic equations with a convection term, with main novelties lying in general growth conditions on the gradient variable and minimal assumptions on Omega. The approach is based on the method of sub and supersolutions, with the solution being a zero of an auxiliary pseudomonotone operator built via truncation techniques. Additionally, the paper presents examples highlighting the generality of the growth conditions.

Robin double-phase problems with singular and superlinear terms

Nikolaos S. Papageorgiou et al.

Summary: This study explores a nonlinear Robin problem driven by the sum of p-Laplacian and q-Laplacian, considering competing effects of a singular term and a parametric perturbation. Using variational tools and comparison techniques, the study proves a bifurcation-type result describing changes in the set of positive solutions as the parameter lambda > 0 varies.

An existence result for singular Finsler double phase problems

Csaba Farkas et al.

Summary: This paper investigates a class of singular double phase problems on Minkowski spaces using Finsler manifolds, allowing certain critical growth for the right-hand sides. By employing variational tools under general assumptions, the existence of at least one non-trivial weak solution for such a problem is proven. This marks the first work dealing with a Finsler double phase operator, even in the nonsingular case.
