Color-switchable hybrid dots/hydroxyethyl cellulose ink for anti-counterfeiting applications

Xijun Fu et al.

Summary: A new environmentally friendly and cost-effective anti-counterfeiting ink has been developed by combining hybrid dots (silicon/carbon) with HEC binder, which can prevent aggregation-induced quenching of the dots. The ink can be successfully transferred onto different surfaces using screen-printing technique, showing widespread practicability. The fluorescent color of the patterns can be switched by adjusting environmental pH-value, making it suitable for high-level anti-counterfeiting applications.

Efficient Negative Photochromism by the Photoinduced Migration of Photochromic Merocyanine/Spiropyran in the Solid State

Tetsuo Yamaguchi et al.

Summary: Efficient negative photochromism was achieved with the photoinduced migration of merocyanine in mesoporous silica to an organophilic clay as spiropyran. The nature of the organophilic clays played an important role in controlling the negative photochromism, with dioleyldimethylammonium clay showing higher yield and faster reaction compared to dioctadecyldimethylammonium clay.

Dual-mode security anticounterfeiting and encoding by electrospinning of highly photoluminescent spiropyran nanofibers

Reza Azimi et al.

Summary: The study successfully developed photochromic copolymer nanofibers for the induction of dual-mode security marking. These security marks displayed high intensities through both photochromic coloration and fluorescence emission, were rapidly authenticated under UV irradiation, and the process was fully reversible. This was achieved by utilizing the high surface area of the photochromic nanofibers for enhanced light absorption and intense optical responses.
