The effects of W/Mo-co-doped BiVO4 photoanodes for improving photoelectrochemical water splitting performance

Summary: Co-doping bismuth vanadate (BVO) with tungsten/molybdenum (W/Mo) significantly enhances its photoelectrochemical properties, resulting in improved photocurrent density, water splitting efficiency, and hydrogen production. The co-doped 0.5W-2Mo-BVO shows a 2700-fold increase in donor concentration and a significant decrease in the space charge layer thickness compared to pure BVO, leading to enhanced charge carrier mobility and PEC performance.
