Namib desert beetle inspired special patterned fabric with programmable and gradient wettability for efficient fog harvesting

Zhihua Yu et al.

Summary: Scientists have developed a flexible and highly efficient fog collector by mimicking the exoskeleton structure of the Namib desert beetle, with a superhydrophobic-superhydrophilic patterned fabric and copper particles, which has shown a higher water-harvesting rate and has the potential to alleviate freshwater shortage in arid regions.

Simulation and experimental study of parameters in multiple-nozzle electrospinning: Effects of nozzle arrangement on jet paths and fiber formation

Hanna S. SalehHudin et al.

Summary: This study found that using unequally-spaced nozzles can improve the uniformity of fiber yield and quality in the electrospinning process, thereby enhancing electrospinnability. Adjusting the distance between adjacent nozzles can improve the electric field distribution and the distribution of nanofibers.

Synthesis of PVDF/SiO2 nanofiber membrane using electrospinning method as a Li-ion battery separator

Hendri Widiyandari et al.

Summary: In this study, PVDF/SiO2 nanofiber membrane was synthesized by electrospinning for use as a separator in li-ion batteries. The addition of SiO2 nanoparticles improved membrane characteristics such as porosity, temperature stability, mechanical strength, and battery capacity stability. The PVDF membrane showed enhanced performance with the addition of SiO2 nanoparticles, leading to increased specific capacity and improved stability over multiple cycles.
