Electronic structure engineering through Fe-doping CoP enables hydrogen evolution coupled with electro-Fenton

Honglei Wang et al.

Summary: The study focuses on improving the energy utilization in the electrochemical hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) by coupling it with electro-Fenton using CoP/C. By optimizing the electron structure of CoP/C and doping Fe to enhance the carrier density of CoFeP/C, more hydroxyl radicals are produced, leading to efficient HER activity. Employing CoP/C for cathodic H2 in an electrochemical flow reactor and CoFeP/C for anodic electro-Fenton requires low constant voltage, promoting energy efficiency in the reactor. Combining HER with electro-Fenton shows potential for sustainable energy and environmental remediation.
