Tetrachlorobisphenol A induced immunosuppression and uterine injury in mice

Yinan Wang et al.

Summary: Tetrachlorobisphenol A (TCBPA) is commonly used as a flame retardant and has been detected in both environmental and human samples. Studies have shown that TCBPA can suppress the immune response in mice and induce changes in the secretion of inflammatory and anti-inflammatory cytokines. Additionally, exposure to TCBPA was found to cause uterine edema in mice and was detected in a significant percentage of serum samples from female volunteers.

Summary: Exposure to endocrine disrupting chemicals during pregnancy, particularly in the 1st trimester, is associated with excessive gestational weight gain. This highlights the importance of considering the timing and specific chemicals in EDC exposure for maternal and offspring health.

Summary: Environmental pollution poses a threat to public health, with research suggesting that organophosphate esters (OPEs) may be associated with the risk of female-specific cancers. Variations in correlations of OPEs between different patient groups imply differences in metabolism.
