A DNA-based voltmeter for organelles

Anand Saminathan et al.

Summary: Voltair is a fluorescent DNA nanodevice that can report the membrane potential of organelles and be targeted to different organelles in live cells. Using Voltair, the membrane potential of various organelles can be measured in real time, potentially guiding the design of biocompatible electronics and enhancing our understanding of how membrane potential regulates organelle biology.
