Summary: The study demonstrated that a low preoperative PNI was associated with poor recurrence-free survival in HCC patients after hepatectomy. Furthermore, a low PNI was found to be an independent prognostic factor for overall survival and recurrence-free survival rates in HCC patients, especially those with TNM stage I. The pooled analysis also indicated a significant association between low PNI and poor overall survival and recurrence-free survival rates.
