Immunogene expression analysis in betanodavirus infected-Senegalese sole using an OpenArray® platform

Juan Gemez-Mata et al.

Summary: The transcriptomic response of Senegalese sole to two betanodaviruses with different virulence levels was studied, revealing that the highly virulent strain induced a stronger immune response but also increased disease severity, while the moderately virulent strain did not. Furthermore, specific genes showed significantly increased expression levels after infection with the highly virulent virus, while immune response was lacking after infection with the mutant strain.

Molecular characterization of the T cell costimulatory receptors CD28 and CTLA4 in the European sea bass

Carmen Gonzalez-Fernandez et al.

Summary: The study identified stimulatory CD28 and inhibitory CTLA4 coreceptors in European sea bass, with high expression in lymphoid organs and liver. Expression of these genes was up-regulated in lymphocytes stimulated with T mitogens. There was differential regulation of cd28 and ctla4 transcription levels in organs of fish challenged with nodavirus, showing a significant correlation with transcription of T cell markers.

Red-grouper nervous necrosis virus B2 protein negatively regulates fish interferon response by suppressing host transcription directed by RNA polymerase II

Yinghui Qin et al.

Summary: The study revealed that the B2 protein of red-grouper nervous necrosis virus blocks interferon-mediated antiviral response by inhibiting host transcription through RNA polymerase II complex. B2 protein was identified as the virus's most potent antihost protein, suppressing various factors involved in the IFN response and decreasing their protein expression. Furthermore, B2 also acts as a general inhibitor of gene transcription by suppressing the activity of the cytomegalovirus promoter.
