A review on neuropharmacological role of erucic acid: an omega-9 fatty acid from edible oils

J. B. Senthil Kumar et al.

Summary: Neurodegenerative diseases are characterized by the loss of neurons in the brain and spinal cord. Fatty acids play a vital role in the development and maintenance of the nervous system. Age is a major risk factor for neurodegenerative disorders. Erucic acid, a specific fatty acid, has pharmacological effects but should not be consumed in excess to avoid heart diseases. This review aims to analyze the toxic and beneficial neuropharmacological effects of erucic acid.

Anti-aging function and molecular mechanism of Radix Astragali and Radix Astragali preparata via network pharmacology and PI3K/Akt signaling pathway

Pin Gong et al.

Summary: Radix Astragali (RA) and Radix Astragali preparata (RAP) have significant anti-aging effects, with RAP showing a more pronounced effect. Their mechanisms of action are mainly related to the balance of oxidative stress and activation of the PI3K/Akt signaling pathway.
