Effects of rhizobia and arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi on yield, size distribution and fatty acid of soybean seeds grown under drought stress

Nicholas O. Igiehon et al.

Summary: Inoculation of soybean seeds with Rhizobium spp. and mycorrhizal fungi can enhance soybean yield, seed size, and fatty acid content, especially under drought stress conditions. The dually inoculated soybean plants showed increased aboveground parameters, mycorrhizal spore number, root mycorrhization, and shoot relative water content. Additionally, bacterial communities in the rhizospheric soil were found to be improved by the use of rhizobia and fungi in this study.

Morphophysiology, Productivity and Quality of Soybean (Glycine max (L.) Merr.) cv. Merlin in Response to Row Spacing and Seeding Systems

Summary: The appropriate row spacing and sowing density of soybeans influence yield, root nodulation, and chlorophyll fluorescence parameters. Smaller row spacing and sowing density are beneficial for increasing yield structure parameters and root nodule numbers, while higher sowing density results in taller plants and higher positioning of the first pod.

Profiling and associations of seed nutritional characteristics in Chinese and USA soybean cultivars

Muhammad Azam et al.

Summary: Soybean is an important oilseed crop in both China and the USA due to its nutritional and functional characteristics. Variations in protein, oil, fatty acids, soluble sugars, and isoflavone content were observed among Chinese and USA soybean cultivars, with differences attributed to genetic background, country of origin, and maturity groups. Geographical factors also played a role in influencing the nutritional characteristics of soybean cultivars.
