Liver biopsy, while informative, is not routinely used due to invasiveness, leading to a need for new biomarkers. Liquid biopsy, specifically detection of circulating tumor cells (CTCs), offers potential for early detection and personalized treatment management in HCC patients. Quantitative analysis of CTCs can predict disease prognosis and treatment response, highlighting the importance of developing CTC detection platforms for clinical use.
