Exploring multi-step glucose oxidation kinetics at GOx-functionalized nanotextured gold surfaces with differential impedimetric technique

Wiktoria Lipinska et al.

Summary: The study proposes a novel protocol utilizing dynamic electrochemical impedance spectroscopy to verify sensor performance, focusing on the response of Ti-Au nanotextured electrode to changes in glucose concentration. Results show visible increase in electrode electric heterogeneity above 1.9 mM of glucose and gold nanoparticles' oxidation above 3.8 mM, both impacting electrode kinetics.

Laser-assisted approach for improved performance of Au-Ti based glucose sensing electrodes

Adrian Olejnik et al.

Summary: This paper focuses on the synthesis and electrochemical properties of electrocatalytic materials based on gold nanoparticles embedded in a structured titanium template. The study shows that laser-engineered electrodes exhibit improved stability and higher glucose oxidation performance compared to conventional methods. Additionally, the research suggests that laser treatment can enhance the catalytic activity of the material by creating more surface defects on the gold nanoparticles.

Disposable and portable gold nanoparticles modified - laser-scribed graphene sensing strips for electrochemical, non-enzymatic detection of glucose

Bicheng Zhu et al.

Summary: The sensor strip developed is a disposable and portable non-enzymatic glucose sensor strip based on gold-nanoparticles (AuNPs)-modified laser-scribed graphene electrode (LSGE). It provides a linear detection range for glucose concentrations between 10 muM to 10 mM with a limit of detection of 6.3 muM and shows good selectivity towards interfering agents. The LSGE/AuNP strips have the potential to be used as disposable glucose sensor strips for point-of-care glucose measurements.

Summary: Development of novel bimetallic Cu-Ag nanocomposites with different compositions and heat treatment techniques for glucose sensing. The equimolar ratio of Cu and Ag exhibited the best glucose sensing ability with high sensitivity, low detection limit, and good reproducibility. Calcination at 600 degrees C led to a three-fold increase in sensitivity, making it one of the best sensor materials with vast linear response range.
