Fabrication, characterization, morphological and thermal investigations of functionalized multi-walled carbon nanotubes reinforced epoxy nanocomposites

Summary: In this study, epoxy-based nanocomposites with various weight percentages of oxidized, acylated MWCNTs were successfully synthesized and characterized for their thermal and morphological stabilities. The results indicated a good interaction between the modified fillers and epoxy resins, leading to enhanced thermal and morphological stabilities of the materials.

Mechanical Properties and Epoxy Resin Infiltration Behavior of Carbon-Nanotube-Fiber-Based Single-Fiber Composites

Summary: In this study, the infiltration behavior of resins into nanopores of carbon nanotube fibers and the mechanical properties of single-fiber composites were investigated. Results showed that resin viscosity significantly affected the formation of pores in the composites, leading to lower load-at-break values.

Functionalized multi-walled carbon nanotube/polyindole incorporated epoxy: An effective anti-corrosion coating material for mild steel

Summary: The study aimed to enhance the anti-corrosion performance of epoxy resin by incorporating f-MWCNT/PIn nanocomposite. The 0.25 wt% f-MWCNT/PIn blended nanocomposite coating showed excellent anti-corrosion and barrier protection properties in electrochemical testing. Uniform dispersion of nanofiller and increased pathway of corrosive electrolytes make it an excellent coating material for anti-corrosion applications.
