How to detect eosinophil ETosis (EETosis) and extracellular traps

Mineyo Fukuchi et al.

Summary: Eosinophils, although a small population, play multifunctional roles in homeostasis and diseases, including releasing eosinophil extracellular traps leading to cell death. Recent studies suggest a close association between EETosis and the classical pathological feature of eosinophilic inflammation, Charcot-Leyden crystals. While there is currently no gold standard for identifying EETosis, the release of cell contents may be a common feature.
