Seismic loss analysis of buildings with post-tensioned cross-laminated timber walls

Alex W. Wilson et al.

Summary: The FEMA P-58 methodology was used to assess economic losses of nonstructural components in two prototype buildings with post-tensioned cross-laminated timber rocking walls. The study found that the low-rise building had lower nonstructural repair costs compared to total building cost at design earthquake and maximum considered earthquake, while the mid-rise building had lower probability of nonstructural damage at service-level earthquake compared to the low-rise building.
