Morpho-physiological and gene expression responses of wheat by Aegilops cylindrica amphidiploids to salt stress

Razieh Kiani et al.

Summary: Aegilops cylindrica Host is a highly salt-tolerant species within the Triticeae tribe. Amphidiploid plants derived from hybridization with contrasting salt tolerance genotypes showed similar traits to A. cylindrica under salt stress, with significant differences in gene expression patterns. These findings suggest that the hybridized amphiploids could be valuable resources for improving salt tolerance in wheat through the backcrossing approach.
