Mobile LiDAR Scanning System Combined with Canopy Morphology Extracting Methods for Tree Crown Parameters Evaluation in Orchards

Summary: This study investigated the use of Riegl VUX-1 LiDAR system in estimating aboveground biomass in a grazing platform, and found that maximum canopy height and fractional vegetation coverage were the best predictors. Additionally, different flight altitudes had little effect on the derived vegetation parameters from LiDAR data.
