Effect of hydrolysis time on the morphological, physical, chemical, and thermal behavior of sugar palm nanocrystalline cellulose (Arenga pinnata (Wurmb.) Merr)

R. A. Ilyas et al.

Summary: In this study, sugar palm nanocrystalline celluloses (SPNCCs) were isolated from sugar palm fiber (SPF) through acid hydrolysis at different reaction times. It was found that a shorter reaction time tended to produce SPNCC with higher thermal stability.

The Effects of Unbleached and Bleached Nanocellulose on the Thermal and Flammability of Polypropylene-Reinforced Kenaf Core Hybrid Polymer Bionanocomposites

Fatimah Athiyah Sabaruddin et al.

Summary: The thermal, thermo-mechanical and flammability properties of kenaf core hybrid polymer nanocomposites reinforced with unbleached and bleached nanocrystalline cellulose were studied. Unbleached NCC had higher lignin content and better stability in thermal and flammability properties compared to bleached NCC. Bleached NCC showed notably lower thermo-mechanical properties in the nanocomposites blend.
