Single-Leg Landings Following a Volleyball Spike May Increase the Risk of Anterior Cruciate Ligament Injury More Than Landing on Both-Legs

Datao Xu et al.

Summary: This study compared and analyzed the kinematics and kinetics differences during the landing phase of volleyball players landing on a single leg and double-leg following a spike shot. It was found that landing on a single leg resulted in greater knee and hip power, ankle plantarflexion angle, and vertical ground reaction forces compared to double-leg landing. These differences occurred within the time range of ACL injury, suggesting potential strategies for reducing non-contact ACL injuries.

Prolonged Running Using Bionic Footwear Influences Lower Limb Biomechanics

Xinyan Jiang et al.

Summary: The study found differences in biomechanical performance at the ankle, knee, and hip joints between different shoe types during prolonged running, with bionic shoes showing significant effects on these joints. Additionally, post-5 km running resulted in decreased ROM in some joints and changes in certain angles.
