Multiplex network reconstruction for the coupled spatial diffusion of infodemic and pandemic of COVID-19

Xiaoqi Zhang et al.

Summary: The COVID-19 pandemic has led to a massive infodemic where the spread of accurate information can help reduce the virus outbreak, while misinformation can increase panic and risk of exposure. By reconstructing the multiplex network of information and COVID-19 spreading, it was found that infodemic played a critical role in amplifying the risk of virus outbreak, especially in highly developed regions, and new mobile platforms pose a greater risk by reinforcing the positive feedback loop between infodemic and pandemic.

To Dine, or Not to Dine on a Cruise Ship in the Time of the COVID-19 Pandemic: The Tripartite Approach towards an Understanding of Behavioral Intentions among Female Passengers

Aleksandar Radic et al.

Summary: This research establishes a theoretical framework with predictive power for intentions of female cruise passengers towards dining on cruise ships during the COVID-19 crisis by extending the theory of reasoned action, including the social servicescape and perceived health risk. The perceived health risk from COVID-19 appears to be the dominant factor discouraging female cruise passengers' behavioral intentions towards dining on a cruise ship during the pandemic.
