The effect of coffee consumption on the non-alcoholic fatty liver disease and liver fibrosis: A meta-analysis of 11 epidemiological studies

Umar Hayat et al.

Summary: Regular coffee consumption is significantly associated with a reduced risk of NAFLD and liver fibrosis development, benefiting liver health. However, further epidemiological studies are needed to confirm this conclusion.

Mitochondrial Dysfunction is a Key Pathway that Links Saturated Fat Intake to the Development and Progression of NAFLD

Ruth C. R. Meex et al.

Summary: NAFLD, the most common liver disease, is associated with diet, fatty acid intake, and mitochondrial dysfunction. SFA plays a crucial role in the development and progression of NAFLD, leading to inflammation and liver damage.

Trigonelline inhibits Nrf2 via EGFR signalling pathway and augments efficacy of Cisplatin and Etoposide in NSCLC cells

Chandrani Fouzder et al.

Summary: The study demonstrated that Trigonelline inhibits Nrf2 activation and its nuclear translocation by blocking the EGFR signaling pathway, enhancing the responsiveness of NSCLC cells to Cisplatin and Etoposide without visible cytotoxicity to normal lung epithelial cells. It showed strong synergism in combination with Cisplatin/Etoposide at lower concentrations than the IC50 values of these drugs, indicating its potential as a promising choice for lung cancer therapy.

Metabolomic Changes after Coffee Consumption: New Paths on the Block

Claudia Favari et al.

Summary: This study aimed at evaluating the impact of different patterns of coffee intake on endogenous molecular pathways through untargeted metabolomics analysis, identifying 153 discriminant metabolites related to coffee consumption. The results provide new insights into the metabolic routes by which coffee and coffee-related metabolites may exert effects on human health.
