Broadband optical diode and giant nonreciprocal tunable light localization

A. H. Gevorgyan

Summary: The new properties of optical diodes were investigated in isotropic magnetoactive layer, magnetophotonic crystal layer, and photonic crystal with a helical structure, showing potential for broadband ideal optical diodes. The appearance of a new photonic band gap for helically structured photonic crystals and strong light localization at some modes were observed, with trapped total light energy and energy density peculiarities being examined.
