Scattering-Based Light-Sheet Microscopy for Rapid Cellular Imaging of Fresh Tissue

Christopher D. Nguyen et al.

Summary: In this study, a scattering-based LSM (sLSM) was developed for rapidly imaging the cellular morphology of fresh tissues without any exogenous fluorescent dyes. The sLSM device achieved high resolution and imaging quality, with results consistent with histopathologic images. Further optimization and evaluation of the sLSM technology are needed for future applications.

Summary: This study demonstrates a 3D refractive index tomography with a large field of view in opaque, arbitrarily thick scattering samples, overcoming the limitations of traditional methods. The approach is theoretically analyzed, simulated, and experimentally validated, showing significant potential for biomedical applications.
